If the bee bites you once, it’s the bee’s fault.  If the bee bites you twice, it’s your fault.”   —   Source Obscure

(Kinda like Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  We need to try to learn from our mistakes, so we don’t repeat them.  Be well – be wary – and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Learn from the mistakes of others.  You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.”   —   Source Obscure

(I got a sense of the first few words right off the bat.  But, I didn’t see the “author” until nearly three quarters done!  This sounds like it was said by someone who liked cigars.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done.”   —   Source Obscure

(Whenever I hear these more folksy kind of quotes I always think of either Mark Twain, or Josh Billings.  But, this could just as easily have been said by Wilford Brimley, or Sam Elliot!  LOL!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

A man is known by the company that keeps him on after retirement age.”   —   Source Obscure

(Yeah.  Good luck with that!  The majority of companies today don’t even care if you make it to retirement age with them.  It’s so much cheaper to hire a kid right out of college, pay them squat, and run them ragged for three to five years, rinse and repeat.  Corporate loyalty is all but dead.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Speak when you are angry – and you’ll make the best speech you’ll ever regret.”   —   Source Obscure

(A clever quip, from our fuzzy friend.  It’s always better to choose your words wisely and carefully.  And, that is so hard to do when you’re seeing red.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Vacation resort:  a place that overlooks a lake and also overlooks comfortable beds and good food.”   —   Source Obscure

(This should probably be Whiny Source Obscure!  It kinda has a Joan Rivers sound to it.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Success is not final; failure is not fatal:  it is the courage to continue that counts.”   —   Source Obscure

(Hopefully, Rebecca is winding it up with these “success” quotes!  They are getting very tedious.  And, yes.  Yer Uncle is just an old grouch.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Education is only a ladder to gather the fruit from the tree of knowledge, not the fruit itself.”   —   Source Obscure

(I know some people who make such a big deal about Ivy League schools.  I’m not one of them.  Plenty of dull, one-dimensional bozos come from those schools.  And, they’re not necessarily more knowledgeable than folk who went to “lesser’ schools.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The real test of golf and in life is not keeping out of the rough, but getting out after we are in.”   —   Source Obscure

(Maybe, it’s just a line from “The Legend of Bagger Vance”!  Which was not a huge commercial success, but a very watchable movie regardless.  I know someone who was an extra in the movie, but that’s neither here nor there.  There’s a very familiar ring to this quote.  I guess it’s just because it’s a variation of the numerous falling down/getting up quotes, which are all valuable.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Just another  way of saying:  “What we call failure is not the falling down but the staying down.”   —   Mary Pickford.  And, I’m sure Mary was paraphrasing a similar quote.  Great truth in the sentiment though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
