(And let me tell you, folks . . . it’s exhausting!  I haven’t even thought of Slappy White in ages!  Of course, he’s been gone for nearly 24 years, but I still remember him.  How can you forget a name like that?  Wikipedia says he had been married to two different singers, LaVern Baker and Pearl Bailey.  However, neither of the lady’s pages mention Slappy!  Beware the internet, folks!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
