Clue/Question: The new bakery specialized in these.
Answer: “PURE BREADS“
(Great all-around Jumble. Well-scrambled clue words. Great answer letter layout. A great cartoon, with two clues. And, a punny answer! None of the clue words seemed new, but the scramblings did. The backwards name in the window is: “Kay Niene’s Bakery”, and the baker’s patter sounds like it’s straight out of a dog food commercial. In my estimation, the CANINE on the leash appears to be a Westie, AKA – or is it AKC – a West Highland White Terrier. Cute little buggers. They look like toys, to me. I can tolerate small dogs, as long as they’re not too yappy. My preference is for retrievers, setters, and mid to large sized mutts. What I don’t get, is that it seems the smaller the dog, the bigger it’s price tag. Dog breeding has largely become, unfortunately, kind of a shady business these days, anyways. In the long run, I think you’re better off adopting/rescuing a handsome mutt from the pound. They’re usually smarter, with less health problems. Over breeding tends to make purebreds dopier and weaker. Mutts are also usually more appreciative and loyal. Also, they’re not as picky eaters. With a good mutt you can save on the dog, and save on having to install an alarm system! Be well and do good, friends. Don’t forget to spay or neuter your pets.) — YUR
