Jumble Spoiler – 10/28/11

Clue/Question:  If they wanted to have everything packed up on time, they’d need to . . .

Answer:  GET A MOVE ON

(I had always thought that there was one spelling, yet two meanings, to the word forego.  As a result, I had a difficult time getting “forgo”.  Something told me it was “forgo”, but it just didn’t look right to me.  I actually had to back into it, by getting the other three words and figuring out the answer first.  I’ll add a relevant link down below.  I thought “yield” was the easiest clue word, and surprisingly I got both “magpie” and “savant” very quickly.  But, those are both super clue words, and they were jumbled beautifully.  The answer letter layout gave nothing away.  Which is good, because the answer itself was pretty simple.  It’s such a popular American idiom.  And, speaking of American idiom, I’m in the mood for a little American Idiot.  So, you’re getting a link for that too!  Rock on, puppies!)   —   YUR

PS.  I actually know the guy in the bike helmet!  That’s my buddy, Patrick.  He might look like a stoner, but he’s actually quite the straight arrow.  At least now he is.  I didn’t know him in the late ’60s/early ’70s.   —   YUR
