Answer: “THOREAU“ WORK
(Now THAT is a real groaner of a pun! None of today’s clue words are new, but all four of the jumbles came up as new. I had to do a double take with “unlike”, and had my wife confirm it for me. It’s not my usual complaint about UN words being a little . . . cheap. It just kind of hit me like a Facebook term, like “unfriend”! Surprisingly, WordPress has just allowed unfriend, so I guess it has become an accepted word. Although, to me, “friend” will always be a noun, and not a verb. But, time marches on, and dinosaurs like me are fading into total irrelevancy anyway. The answer letter layout was a superb jumble! If it weren’t for the quotation marks, making the play on THOROUGH, this could have been a difficult solve. I had to check off all the letters in the answer letter layout to confirm the answer. The cartoon is great. Good likeness of Thoreau. I’ve never cared much for the look of a beard without a mustache. It generally looks goofy to me. The only one who really carried it off was good ol’ Abe Lincoln. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
