Clue/Question: When the retired Army cook became a chef, he was already a – – –
Answer: SEASONED VETERAN
(Not too tough. All the clue words were old favorites, but at least all their jumblings were new. The answer letter layout was great, but the combination of the cartoon’s dialog and the clue/question pretty much made this one a no-brainer. But, there is so much detail in Jeff’s great cartoon. The chef has at least three burners going, and he’s shaking a pan over one with one hand, while he’s sprinkling some kind of spice into another pan. There’s a plate with what looks like a garlic and maybe a hot pepper on it, and there are containers of spices. In the background there’s a rack with prepared meals on it, and heating lamps above it. And, our chef is sporting some of his service medals on his chest. Great cartoon. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
