Answer:  NO PICNIC

(Better safe than sorry!  That’s what my mother always says.  None of today’s clue words are new, but all of the jumbles came up as new.  Three interesting things came up in writing this spoiler.  1.  The word “adopt” spells out in alphabetic order.  We see that frequently.  2.  The jumble “cefint” is *spelled* in alphabetic order.  We don’t see that all that often.  And 3.  WordPress considers “benton” – when spelled with all caps – as a proper word!  But not when it’s in lower case!  I’m guessing that it sees it as a recognized name when it’s in caps, as in Thomas Hart Benton, the painter.  Or, his great-great uncle, the famous Senator from Missouri.  There is an Urban Dictionary definition for benton, but WordPress wouldn’t be acknowledging that.  The answer letter layout was fine, but this answer is kind of hard to hide, considering the great cartoon that’s been provided to us.  Lots to like about the cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
