(I think he actually started out with the best of intentions. I think he became a victim of the quote: “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” — Lord Acton. I think losing to Kennedy caused him to harbor a deep, deep bitterness, that when he finally was victorious, led him to an overwhelming sense of entitlement, that is very dangerous for anyone who holds that high an office.
