(Not exactly your standard stinky pun. Of course, there are outs in baseball, and a hard rain is a pouring rain, and fans do pour out of a stadium/arena, so there is a pretty good connection. I’m just not crazy about it.
Hoyt is giving ralis95 a break today, as there are no new clue words, to add to his clue word database. Three of the jumbles were new, with the one for “encore” definitely having been used before. The answer letter layout was spiffy. The Knurek cartoon paints the picture fittingly.
I hope Derek Jeter catches a break tonight, with the weather. I’m a die hard Mets fan, but I always liked the way The Kid handled himself. The heart of a lion, with a better than average skill set, with possibly the most consistently optimistic attitude in all of baseball that I have ever seen. He’s been the paragon of grace and humility, and possibly the best ambassador the sport of baseball has ever – and will ever – had/have. His retirement marks the end of an era.
