( . . . for tomorrow we die! No, no, no! This is a happy, happy occasion! But chances are the bride, and some others in her party, have been die-ting, leading up to the big day! They want to look just right in their dresses. And, to be fair, I’m sure a few of the gentlemen also tried to drop a few lbs, to look dapper in their suit, or tux. It probably would have been easier, for all parties involved, if they had just eloped. But, big business does their best to SELL us all on the idea of having to have the fairy princess experience. Heaven forbid we say NO to that blatant con job! It’s not always the bride who wants the big wedding though. Sometimes the insistence on the big wedding is the desire of one, or both, set of parents. Occasionally, it’s the groom who wants it! But generally, guys could give a hoot. To each their own, I guess.
Absolutely no new clue words today! However, five of the six jumbles came up as new. Two of them stumped me, and I had to back into them. Both “dariem” and “dyenob” did me in. I considered married for “dariem”, because of the cartoon, but was short an R. And for “dyenob” I was thinking embody, substituting the M for the N. I couldn’t get past those erroneous ideas. The answer letter layout was an ambitious 17-letter jumble! But, because of the great cartoon, its dialog, and the leading nature of the clue/question, I was able to figure out the answer, even with six missing letters. The layout of the answer blanks also came into play.
