Mark Shand dies at 62; conservationist and travel writer - Los Angeles Times

People are so difficult.  Give me an elephant any day.”   —   Mark Shand

(Mark was a conservationist, a travel writer, and the brother of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.  The dude really loved elephants!  But he was also quite the lady’s man.  There are plenty of pictures of him with lovely ladies on Google Images.  Hey!  He was wealthy.  But his life was cut short when he took a bad fall outside a Manhattan restaurant.  It was a blow to the head, but I don’t see any real details.  I figure he must have hit his head on a stone/concrete step, or something, and not just hitting his head on the pavement.  But, like I said, I can’t find any details.  All I know is that I slammed the back of my head on the driveway almost two years ago, when I was 63 &1/2, and I ended up with a MONSTER goose-egg, that took about a month to go down.  But I was fortunate that I didn’t lose consciousness, or anything, and I’m still around to tell the tale.  Mark was a couple of months shy of his 63rd birthday.  Although, the picture of him above makes him look much older, in my opinion.  This appears to be the first of his quotes to make the Cryptoquote, so we welcome him – posthumously – to the Cryptoquote Club today.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
