I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban | memoir by Yousafzai and Lamb | Britannica

Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(Maybe the most positive person on the planet!  I actually recognized the author’s name first today!  Well, the first name at least.  That last name is a bit much for this semi-eurocentric aging Baby Boomer.  But she has gone from survivor – of the Taliban – to international thriver!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Apple TV+ announces programming partnership with Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai - Apple

One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(I always have a hard time coming up with her last name!  Yes, I had to Google it.  I guess it must be my 20th Century, Anglo/Euro-centric mindset!  I thought I was pretty good coming up with her first name on my own!  Very cool lady though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(I wonder what the world would be like if we were all mute?  Would we be more civil with each other?  Or, would our some of our sign language gesticulations just get more aggressive and insulting?  Hmm.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(Why can’t she have a simple name, like Smith or Jones???  That would make my life so much simpler.  She’s a tough kid though.  And, very bright.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

It is very important to know who you are.  To make decisions.  To show who you are.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(No, Art.  I was not able to come up with the author’s name on my own!  She has been in the news a lot, the last few years.  And, she is a very brave and determined young woman.  But, her name is not exactly a household name.  At least not in my household.  And, no.  I’m not proud of this.  She’s the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize though.  It’s a good thing getting shot in the head is not a prerequisite to winning the Nobel Peace Prize!  She is still just a kid, but as a human rights advocate her name will surely become more and more recognizable.  Even to Eurocentric, semi-chauvanists, like myself.   Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
