(This is another: Stop the world.  I want to get off! issue for me.  This kind of entitlement attitude has been carefully created over the last 30 years, or so, by our ultra commercial corporate media.  Television and radio commercials used to sell us, predominantly, things that all of us need.  Soap, cornflakes, Chevys, toothpaste, appliances, beer, things like that.  You still see commercials for these kind of things, but  nowadays there are more and more commercials for luxury items.  High end cars and jewelry stores come to mind.  Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar, to name a few.  And the jewelry stores:  Jared, Kays, Zales, De Beers, Tourneau, etc.  They all push this unrealistic ideal that these things are what we need . . . to be “happy” in life.  And, if we don’t get them we’ve somehow been cheated.  Bull Dookie!  All these companies want to do is separate you from your money.  It’s another aspect of the transferal of wealth that has been going on – and continues to go on – in this country.  And, if you don’t have the cash . . . well they have these “convenient credit” traps er, I mean terms for you.  So, now you don’t have the money you once had . . . AND you’ll also be paying off these tremendous debts for the remainder of your life!  But, Gee.  Now, Gladys has that rock on her finger, and she can make all her girlfriends jealous, and you can brag to all of your buddies what a big shot you are!  It’s all a carefully orchestrated trap, that far too many of us are willing to fall for.  Wise up, friends.  Don’t you fall for it.  Think more like a Warren Buffett, or Suze Orman.  You don’t need these kind of things.

No new clue words today, but some really great jumbling.  Even though we’ve seen this exact same jumble before, I struggled some with “coerce”.  A bit with “import” too, although I haven’t seen this jumbling of it before.  The answer letter layout gave nothing away.  Nicely cryptic!  Great cartoon and a fun pun/turn of a phrase.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
