Clue/Question:  Costs of installing their fancy new fireplace were going – – –

Marie Armenia: "HEY.. JESUS! THERE'S A HOLE IN MY ROOF!"

Answer:  THROUGH THE ROOF

(Sounds like a shady contractor to me!  Whether there was an existing fireplace before, or this whole enterprise is new, the contractor should have known more about the situation before writing up the estimate, and beginning work.  Live and learn, couple.

No new clue words today.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we have seen “ruyrh” before.  Another example of the difficulties of the English language is FORGO and FOREGO.  Technically, they mean different things – to do without vs. to go before, but because people confuse the two frequently, forego is acceptable even when you’re intending forgo.  Just some more nonsense, folks!  The answer letter layout was a wonderful eleven letter jumble.  It was nicely cryptic.

Fine cartoon of the frustrating situation.  Once you have a hole in your roof there’s no going back.  The contractor really has the couple over a barrel.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
