(I wonder where that expression ever came from?  Is it a reference to the semi-hourglass shape of fiddles, or do you think it’s more about the tautness of the strings?  Hmm!  There were no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles came up as new.  We have seen “sudoe” before.  It took me a little time to figure out “acquit”.  The answer letter layout was admirably cryptic.  A very fine jumble.  Very straight forward cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
