“Nothing happens in the “real” world unless it first happens in the images in our heads.” — Gloria Anzaldua
(Yet another new author to the annals of the Cryptoquote! It’s the first quote of hers since I’ve been posting the spoilers, at least. In reading about her, it just hit me that the once taboo word “queer” is now something that the LGBTQ community embraces! Could I get a friggin’ program somewhere??? And, why do we even need three separate designation letters for essentially the same thing. I can see why we might need the B and T, but the L, G, and Q are essentially the same thing. Especially in this age, where we’re trying to do away with gender specific designations, i.e. an “actress” is now an “actor”, and “chairman” and “chairwoman” is now just “chair”, why can’t a “Gay” and/or a “Lesbian” just be a “Queer”? Wouldn’t that at least make the acronym a little more concise? The way it’s currently going it could go even further to LGBTQFDO, or more. Can anyone help a brother out here? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
