(Wow!  No wonder J.A. has been pushing for me to post the missing days.  This was a tough solve!  I was not seeing it for a few minutes.  At first I thought the first word might be MADE, but DYOSHINLAP wasn’t doing anything for me.  So, I turned my attention to the Cryptoquote.  Piece of cake!  When I came back, I picked up on the alliteration of “pretty penny”  in the cartoon’s dialog, and thought that PAID made perfect sense.  The MDYAOESHNL didn’t exactly scream HANDSOMELY, but after re-reading the clue/question, a bell went off in my little noggin!  None of this day’s clue words were new, but three of the jumbles were.  Hoyt has used “prubal” before.  Obviously, I was very impressed with the answer letter layout.  There was nothing conspicuous about it, for me.  Great cartoon.  The guy is very studly, and I’m guessing the lady is his agent.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  This is from last Saturday.  I had completed last Friday’s, but I was in too much of a rush to get on the road, so I didn’t post it.  And, I didn’t pack it because I knew I wasn’t going to have access to a computer for a few days.  I dropped it in my recycle bin on the way out to the car.  Fortunately, my wife saved all the newspapers from Saturday on, so at least I can provide the 9th and 10’s puzzles.  Sunday the 10th is next!  Then, I will break down and read the comment/answers that hal wrote in, to give you Friday 9/8’s puzzle answers.   —   YUR
