Answer:  KITTY–CORNER

(Some of my New York City area friends might take issue with today’s answer.  While I grew up always saying kitty-corner, it is catty-corner to the majority of folk in the greater NYC vicinity.  Merriam Webster’s seems to prefer kitty-corner, while listing catty-corner as a “variant”.  Vive la difference!  No new clue words today.  However, three of the jumbles are coming up as new.  We’ve definitely seen “torbo” before.  All of today’s jumbles came to me instantly.  The answer letter layout was a fantastic jumble today.  Not obvious in the least.  Amusing cartoon.  The vast majority of calico cats are female, but occasionally you’ll get a rare male calico.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —    YUR
