La poesia sull'amore di Kahlil Gibran e il suo significato

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(This is why the earth prefers children and so-called “primitive” peoples.  They are more in tune with nature than us so-called “civilized” adults.  When I was a young one the soles of my feet were like leather, and I could handle just about anything.  Of course I stubbed my big toe a number of times.  Bled like a stuck pig!  I also stepped on a few bees too.  Not fun.  But that didn’t stop me from going around barefoot!  Now there are products on my feet, and products in my hair.  I am depriving nature, while I deprive myself.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(So, keep that string taut and stay strong, so they’ll fly as far as possible.  And, hold steady, so they’ll fly true.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(I think I understand my sciatica all too well, thank you!  Actually, Gibran is one of my favorite quotesters!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Life without liberty is like a body without spirit.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(This was a fairly difficult solve! Of course the O had to be either the A or the I.  But, there ended up being only three E’s in the entire quotation, including the author.  And, a whopping ten I’s!  It wasn’t until I pieced together the last four letters of Khalil that I was able to put this one together.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Art is a step from what is obvious and well-known toward what is arcane and concealed.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(There should always be a certain element of mystery in art.  When something is really obvious then it’s pretty commonplace.  And, it’s harder to call that “art”.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(Great as a stand alone quote, but even better when included with its predecessor line:  “In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.  For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”  For whatever reason, I get Gibran.  So much poetry leaves be exasperated and put off, but I have no such problem with Gibran.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.”   —   Khalil Gibran

(Now, this is a quotable quote.  If they’re going to throw us the occasional curve ball, at least they can make them worth our while.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(This is a marvelous quote, and I could probably riff on it for days!  This man was just so insightful!  The world needs more people like Khalil Gibran.

The “sneaky” thing about today’s cryptoquote was due to a fairly logical assumption, that turned out to be wrong!  It wasn’t easy getting started, because there were no single letter words, and it wasn’t obvious which letter was the letter “E”.  But, the “VY” looked good to be “TH”.  From there, my assumption was that the seventh word was THINGS.  So, for a while, I had the “F” as “I” and the “J” as “N”!  Tsk, tsk, tsk!  When I saw that the “P” couldn’t possibly be a “G” I had to do a major re-evaluation.  Well, maybe not so major.  And, I’m glad of that, because for a minute I thought I might have screwed up the entire thing, as I was already about a third done.  Realizing the “H” was likely the “A”, and changing my “I”s to “O”s and my “N”s to “R”s made the whole thing come together, with minimal mess!  I’ll have to be more careful next time.  How’s the old saying go?  Measure twice, cut once?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
