Answer:  A BUCK AN EAR

(MAJOR groans!  This is one of the oldest jokes in the books.  But, I believe the original gag revolved around pirates’ earrings.  Anyhow, there were no new clue words today.  Our pal, ralis95, can stand down.  Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “narmen” having been used before.  The answer letter layout was a nifty, cryptic jumble.  The cartoon makes up for the stale joke.  A real spiffy looking pirate, with a puffy shirt, pantaloons, snee, and a corsair’s hat.  And, we also got the classic sinking sailboat on the horizon!  All in all a fine Jumble . . . me hearties!  Be well and do good, friends.  Don’t take any wooden doubloons!)   —   YUR
