Clue/Question: The dog was certain he’d made the cat very angry after seeing the – – –
Answer: TELL-“TAIL“ SIGN
(See!!! I told you they were setting us up for a toughie! I zipped through the old favorite clue words, put the answer letter layout down, read the clue/question, then I . . . just stared off into space for a while. I went and did the Cryptoquote, and then came back to it. I knew that the word “tail” had to be part of the answer, but wasn’t sure if it was the one in quotes, or the last word. I guess it could have been the first word, but I wasn’t thinking that way. It finally just kinda hit me.
Three of the jumbles came up as new for me, with only the one for “input” definitely having been used before. The answer letter layout was good enough to keep me guessing for a while. The cartoon was great. You can really see the dog eying the cat’s upright, frizzed out tail. The poor baby better turn tail, and hightail it outta there, before that hellcat scratches its nose off! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
