Cryptoquote Spoiler – 08/13/20

MY WORLD...AND WELCOME TO IT (NBC 1969-70) – Rewatch Classic TV

Let us not look back in anger, or forward in fear, but around in awareness.”   —   James Thurber

(I was first exposed to the wit and wisdom of James Thurber, at age 12, via the half hour sitcom “My World and Welcome to It”, starring William Windom.  It only ran for one season, but I thought it was brilliant.  I wonder if I could find episodes of it somewhere?  Today’s quote really resonates with me.  I’m always trying to tell people to wake up, and read between the lines.  The past is done.  Living in fear is pointless.  Work for meaningful, positive change.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Early to rise and early to bed makes a male healthy, wealthy and dead.”   —   James Thurber

(Our most quoted James!  A clever turn of Ben Franklin’s advice, but not so reasonably well said.  Except in the sense that even the healthy, wealthy and wise . . . eventually end up dead.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Treasonous?) Cryptoquote Spoiler – 07/14/10

Let us not look back in anger, or forward in fear, but around in awareness.”   — James Thurber

(I’m sure that’s what most right wingers – and some factions of our federal government – would say of this.  Not to mention a certain incongruous “state” on the eastern Mediterranean.)   — YUR
