Answer:  IN HIS ELEMENT

(Big Al, and his Berkley buddies: Torbjorn Sikkeland, Robert Main and also Latimer, Larsh and Seaborg were giants in their field.  They were responsible for co-discovering a dozen – or more – different element-iums!  I believe they are all of a radioactive nature, but I couldn’t swear to it.

All of today’s clue words already reside on the world famous ralis95 clue word database.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new, with “kenal” and “lmineb” having definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a radiant twelve letter jumble.  It disguised the final answer very well.

The cartoon was another great period piece.  Looks like the late ’50s or early ’60s.  I guess that’s the heavy ion accelerator, the Hilac, that Al’s working at.  He and his friends may not be household names, but maybe they should be.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
