A torn jacket is soon mended; but hard words bruise the heart of a child.”   —   H.W. Longfellow

(I didn’t pick up on this being a Longfellow quote until I was about 3/4s done!  Teach your kids right from wrong, but don’t use words that make them feel stupid.  They stay with them a long, long time.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Happy Birthday, to my beautiful baby sister, Debbie!  She is one year behind Kevin Bacon!  LOL!   —   YUR

Most persons would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions.   —   (H. W.) Longfellow

(I think that there is more than a touch of sarcasm in this quotation.  I do many small things very well – including this blog? – and what do I have to show for it?  I think this is Longfellow’s way of saying:  Take care of the big things, and the small things will take care of themselves.  I liked how they made this quote look like it was from one of the famous, one-name authors, like Socrates or Cicero.  Maybe some of our complaining is paying off!  Aaah!  The power of the internet . . . blog!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The talent of success is nothing more than doing what you can do well and doing well whatever you do.”   — H.W. Longfellow
