(Very interesting.  To my knowledge, the Detroit Tigers have never experienced a perfect game.  Not on the winning side at least.  But . . . it could happen!  Heck, if the Mets could finally win a No Hitter, like they did this year, then I guess anything is possible!  Being a baseball fan, I loved this Jumble.  I thought the clue words were all well jumbled.  There is a new word for the ralis95 clue word database, but I think it could be deemed debatable.  The word “hyper” is accepted as a stand alone word, by some sources.  However, Merriam Webster’s still has it as a prefix only.  Not as a stand alone word.  This could get the purists up in arms!  We’re going to have to have another debate, over what constitutes a valid Jumble clue word.  Me?  I could care less.  I just like causing trouble, from time to time.  Back to the critique.  I thought the answer letter layout was a thing of beauty!  Nothing given away here, at all.  If it wasn’t for the pitcher’s comment about celebrating this would have been a very tough Jumble to solve.  As it is, I bet that a number of you had some difficulty in solving it.  Pitch and throw are synonymous, so that was the pun aspect.  If I wasn’t already so far behind in my day I might have made this an Unclerave’s Wiseguy of the Day contest.  I blame Lesley.  She HAD to go and say that she hated doing the crossword puzzle!  I usually don’t bother with it these days, but since she brought it up . . . and with such passion, I just HAD to do today’s!  It’s the one from the Los Angeles Times, so if anyone is having trouble with it . . .

Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
