Image result for mountains

The mountain is voiceless and imperturbable; and its very loftiness and serenity sometimes make us the more lonely.”   —   Henry van Dyke

(I can’t remember when I last saw/heard the word “imperturbable”.  It was one of the reasons why today’s Cryptoquote was as challenging as it was.  It didn’t stop me though.  I think it’s the second Henry Van Dyke quote in a week also.  That, in itself, is a little unusual.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The first day of Spring is one thing, and the first Spring day is another.  The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.”   —   Henry van Dyke

(As I wait for last week’s foot of snow to melt away, I can certainly relate to this man’s statement.  And, just a week – or so – before it was pushing 70 degrees!  Moths were fluttering, trees were budding, and the peepers were peeping.  Not sure if they were able to re-hybernate, or if they simply died.  If they died it will probably mean more mosquitoes this year!  Oh, joy.  Happy first day of Spring, folks!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Image result for little rivers

For real company and friendship, there is nothing outside of the animal kingdom that is comparable to a river.”   —   Henry van Dyke

(This sounds a little strange, as many quotes often do, until you see the context from which it came.  Read Little Rivers, by van Dyke – see below – and I think you’ll appreciate where he was coming from.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Image result for life

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look at the stars.”   —   Henry van Dyke

(Those are all things that I enjoy doing!  Appreciate life every single day, and always try to tell your friends and family that you love them, because you never really know if you, or they, are going to see tomorrow.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
