A man who trusts nobody is apt to be the kind of man nobody trusts.”   —   Harold Macmillan

(I believe this qualifies as a pithy quote.  It’s not strongly declarative, so I wouldn’t argue with it.  On the surface this looked like an easy solve, but it was a little deceiving.  Only two “E”s in the entire quote, and it’s fairly rare that we see the word “apt”.  I had thought that the word was going to be ACT until everything else fell into place.  When it’s not a really well known quote I tend to kind of go word for word, not seeing the forest for the trees, as it were.  However, these things tend to work themselves out.  Be well and do good, friends.  Remember, it’s generally better to trust . . . but verify.)   —   YUR
