Jumble Spoiler – 11/28/18

Visual Description:  Bring back the Glass–Steagall Act!

NAGIT  =  GIANT,  LENKT  =  KNELT,  INIOCC  =  ICONIC,  BBRASO  =  ABSORB   —   Giving us:  GNTKNINIAOB

Clue/Question:  Financial institutions need your business and are – – –

Answer:  BANKING ON IT

(Okay.  What’s the catch?  Do you need to maintain a balance of at least $10,000 or something?  Are you limited to a certain number of checks per month?  Do you need to promise them your first male child?  JKLOL.  I think banks know that they can make money off you and still give you free checking.  Your deposits earn squat, but the rates they charge you for everything are ridiculously high.  As a result, lots of people are moving their business to credit unions!  I think this one of those literal/figurative puns anyway.

Today is a bit of a rarity.  This is the first time, that I can think of, where there are no new clue words, AND all of the jumbles have been used before!  All the clue words pretty much jumped off the page this morning.  The answer letter layout was – technically – the only new jumble of the day.  It was a dandy too.  It disguised the final answer very nicely.  The omission of the word bank, in the cartoon and clue/question, made getting the answer a piece of cake.

Great cartoon, as usual.  I liked the bank employees’ little name tags, and also the little pen standing on the desk inside the bank.  It probably has a chain attached to it.  Fun, yet simple, Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
