“Intolerance is a form of egotism, and to condemn egotism intolerantly is to share it.” — George Santayana
(I should share this quote with a good friend of mine. We both share the same political/societal ideology, except that he seems to have ZERO tolerance for others’ intolerance. He also does not see the problems of “political correctness” and “cancel culture”. I see both of these issues – although they’re kind of one and the same – as the leading cause of today’s extremism and ideological polarization. Regardless of whom/where this quote originated, I feel we all have to get back to “I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. We have to have a certain level of acceptance of other people’s thinking. It’s called being civil. Can we even have a civilization without civility? When we insist on fighting fire with fire, we risk burning the entire thing down. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

“An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world.” — George Santayana
(And, speaking of dreamers, Happy Belated Birthday to John Lennon! The good man would have been 70 this past Saturday. I coulda sent my wishes earlier, but I generally prefer to stay off the bandwagon. And, the way I see it, belated wishes kinda extend the event!) — YUR
