Clue/Question: For the coins in the pinball machine, it was – – –
Answer: CLOSE QUARTERS
(I like this stinky pun! To me, it has a fresher funk. Not the same ol’ same ol’ pun. It’s been a while since we’ve had a coin, or any money, pun. Right?
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “gilco” at some time in the past. The answer letter layout was an interesting thirteen letter jumble. Nothing obvious it.
A very imaginative cartoon of the coin depository of a pinball machine. I liked that there were some of those state quarters, from the oughts! I collected the whole series. Then they started coming out with the national parks quarters, but with zero publicity! To this day, I don’t understand why there was a big promotion for the fifty states quarters, but nothing for the parks! I’ve saved some of them too, but I have no idea what’s out there, or if they’re still issuing them. Oh, well. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
