Clue/Question: The large, glossy, black birds lived in Zagreb. To them, it was the capital of – – –
Answer: “CROW–ATIA“
(A marvelously stinky pun! I really like this one, because you can just hear the snooty folks groaning over this “lowest form of wit”. I guess you wouldn’t hear Noel Coward resorting to puns. And, probably not Nick and Nora Charles either. But I always thought that Asta stole the show from them anyway! woof woof!
All classic clue words today. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but it seems we’ve seen “sacee” in previous Jumbles. No real head scratchers for me today. The answer letter layout was a great eight letter jumble. The quotation marks and hyphen were a big help. Those and having a fairly good knowledge of world geography.
I’ve never been to Zagreb, but it looks like Jeff captured the Zagreb Cathedral very nicely. And, I always get a kick out of his talking crows. Maybe these two are Haikyl and Jaikyl??? Does that at least sound a little like Croatian? Maybe? No? Well, I tried, folks. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
