Visual Description: The female pas de deux.
DWNOU = WOUND, TURET = UTTER, STOAMC = MASCOT, EYTPRO = POETRY — Giving us: WUUTTSOTOT
Clue/Question: When the ballet scene featured a duo of ballerinas, all eyes were drawn – – –
Answer: TO TWO TUTUS
(This is very likely THE best alliterative, rhyming Jumble pun of ALL-TIME! Today, the guys were really on point! Or, more accurately, en pointe! I hope all the puntwits – people who hate puns – out there are moaning their derrieres off.
All classic clue words today. However, three of the jumbles came up as new. We’ve definitely seen “turet” before. Fun fact: the *word* “utter” comes up five times on the ralis95 clue word database. First as butter, then gutter, then mutter, then putter, and finally as “utter”. If we had seven letter Jumble clue words you could add flutter and stutter. Seeing the clue word “mascot” so soon was a little surprising. I know we had it within this past week. The answer letter layout was a fun jumble. It was nicely cryptic. If not for the great visual clue, the cartoon, this might have been a much more difficult solve.
The cartoon really set the tone. The ballet dancers are resplendent in their tutus. And, the audience is thoroughly engaged. Great way to close out the week. Be well and do good, friends. Merde!) — YUR
