Clue/Question: The submarine in the sea between Australia and New Zealand was – – –
Answer: DOWN UNDER
(Ooh! That is definitely a stinker of a pun. I’m sure the ventilation systems in the newer subs are pretty good, but in all the old movies – usually WWII sagas – everybody looks hot and sweaty, and grimy/funky. Ugh! Hey! When these guys surface in the Arctic Circle are they Up Over? Maybe, that’s how the Inuit refer to their territories? Okay, all you Eskimos out there. Am I close??? LOL! You folks may not appreciate my sense of humor, but I’m cracking myself up!
Even before checking, I knew that today’s clue words were already members of the world famous ralis95 clue word database. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “guave” having definitely been used before. The answer letter layout was an operational nine letter jumble. It was hard to hide what I thought was a pretty obvious answer, mostly based on the clue/question.
Fine submarine cartoon. Jeff omitted the typical periscope shot, so I thought I’d throw one in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
