Jumble Spoiler – 12/24/20

Clue/Question:  They’d had the couch for a couple of days, and – – –

Answer:  “SOFA“, SO GOOD

(Ooh!  A real stinker-oo of a pun!  And, one that may have puzzled our non-New York City crowd.  Especially the Midwesterners, where the R’s are hard to miss!  I’m just from Western New York, and as a kid, I was always puzzled how “fa” was “a long, long way to run”.  But, for Oscar Hammerstein – a native Nu Yawka – it made perfect sense.

All of today’s clue words are like heirloom Christmas tree ornaments.  They’ve been in the ralis95 box a long, long time.  Their jumbles however are all coming up as new today.  None of them tripped me up though.  The answer letter layout was a perfect 10 of a jumble.  I’d say the quotation marks were a big clue to getting the final answer.

Heartwarming Christmas eve family scene.  The three older members, and Fido, are just chilling on the davenport.  While Junior seems to be wide awake, and more than ready for present opening.  The little mask on the Santa ornament will mark this as a Christmas Jumble of 2020.  Until the majority of us are vaccinated, I encourage all of us to continue the safety/health protocols that we are all too familiar with.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
