Answer:  AND SOFOURTH

(And, so it is!  America’s 245th birthday!  And, I’ve been around for a little more than a quarter of those birthdays.  Here’s another little tidbit for you guys.  Similar to how earlier this week I “predicted” Lady Gaga the day before she was featured in a Jumble, this morning I threw on MY Captain America tee-shirt!  So, I guess that my Jumble mojo is working overtime!

We actually have a clue word today that is not on the ralis95 clue word database.  And, that word is “humbly”.  Does that mean that it’s new?  Possibly!  But we may have seen it in a previous Sunday Jumble, and ralis95 just didn’t pick up on it.  His paper doesn’t have the Sunday one, and he says that he doesn’t get the emails that the blog sends out to followers.  So, it’ll be new to him!  All of today’s jumbles appear to be new, which is a little unusual.  I didn’t struggle with any of them though.  The answer letter layout was a modest – for a Sunday – eleven letter jumble.  Sufficiently cryptic though.  But I picked up on AND SO right away, then from the OTHUFR I got the FOURTH.

Great cartoon of a family celebrating the holiday, with fireworks and a cookout/barbecue.  In a lot of the country a barbecue is specifically for chicken, ribs, chops and briskets.  With either a sauce, or a dry rub, often done in a smoker.  But folks in the New York Metropolitan area consider anything cooked outdoors, on a grill, a “barbecue”.   Where I grew up we just said we were grilling some burgers, dogs, or steaks.  But whatever YOU call it, I hope that you all have happy and safe Fourth of July!  Leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
