Answer:  HEMMED IN

(A very fitting, almost classic Jumble.  I could see Henri Arnold and Bob Lee pinning this one.  The pun is a bit of a groaner, but not a cutting stinker.  It didn’t put me in stitches, but it did get a minor rise out of me.  This could be my worsted spoiler ever.  Darn it.  I’m running out of off the cuff collateral puns.  Fear not.  This yarn twill end soon.  I will waist no more of your time.  The rest of my comments are looming.

All of today’s clue words are as familiar as an old shoe.  But, all four jumbles are bespoke!  Not really a stretch either.  But, someone stop me!  The answer letter layout is a dapper eight letter jumble.  It’s pattern gave nothing away.

Big bonus clues in today’s cartoon.  The basting stitches are soon to be hems.  Plenty of material to go around.  Time to sew this sucker up!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
