Answer:  “LIQUID–ATING“ S/B “LIQUID–ATION”

(Maybe it’s just me, but this one took me a while today.  The clue words I got immediately.  But, with the answer I kept trying for some variant of “delinquent”, and anything with “quant” in it.  I played around with “quota” too, but didn’t think they’d have one of their clue words in the answer.  I think putting the Q up front, and having a word like “quota” in the game, was intentional . . . and pretty smart.  They had me going!)   — YUR

PS.  I really shouldn’t kid around with Cubs fans.  I’m a die-hard Mets fan.  These last few years have been brutal.  Especially following the infamous ’06 meltdown!
