Clue/Question:  Passing the signs on the road for hours left them . . .

Answer:  BILL BORED

(The four clue words came to me in an instant, but the answer required me to look carefully at the cartoon.  The answer letters were nicely mixed.  Not obvious.  Quotation marks might have helped with this pun/play on words, but then again maybe not.  Billboard is only one word.  But, that’s NOT why this is so late today.  I had a heck of a time solving the cryptoquote this AM.  And most of you regulars know that your uncle has to have both answers before he goes to press!) — YUR
