Answer:  BOUND TO SUCCEED

(An excellent pun!  Were they binding books during the days of the Roman empire?  I guess I never gave it any thought before.  I suppose it is possible.

I really thought we had seen “sermon” some time before, but the ralis95 world famous clue word database says otherwise.  It’s “new”!  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, with “cotte” having definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a very impressive fourteen letter jumble.  It did a fine job disguising the final answer.

Great cartoon of ancient Rome.  A nice triumphal arch, maybe a Pantheon, and the Colosseum!  Great Friday Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
