Clue/Question: When the forest’s conifers had a party, they got – – –
Answer: ALL SPRUCED UP
(Another old expression that my Mom always used! And, it’s a positive thing to say to someone. “You look all spruced up!” Much nicer than: “Well, you clean up nicely.” As though you’re normally Pigpen, from the Peanuts comic strip, or something? That line might apply to some cowboy who just came in off the range – or to some homeless wino – who’s just been freshly shaved and dressed. But, otherwise, that’s hardly a compliment.
I’m hoping that ralis95 caught this on his own, yesterday, but we had a new clue word in “cheep”. That’s what the birdy says! Cheep, cheep! He’ll have to add this to his world famous clue word database. Three of the jumbles came up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “lutdon” before. And, wouldn’t you know, it was the only jumble to give me any trouble. Fortunately, I didn’t have to back into it. The answer letter layout was an impressive twelve letter jumble. If you weren’t familiar with the expression, you might have struggled to get the final answer.
Cute cartoon of animated conifer trees! They look like they’re branching out. Nothing shady going on. Well, it is night time. I like that Jeff made the squirrels into little waiters. I hope the spruces have some acorns . . . to tip the squirrels! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
