Clue/Question:  The sports bar was full of adult males.  After their team lost, the bar was full of – – –

Answer:  “GROAN“ MEN

(I’ve been there!  And, I’ve expressed some choice expletives too.  I’ve had to apologize to some patrons who weren’t there for the game, and were not appreciative of my . . . indelicacies.  And, I’m just a fan.  There are plenty of numbskulls out there who place sizeable wagers on these games.  So, when they lose they really lose.  Some actually lose it.

All of today’s clue words are already on the ralis95 clue word database.  I like to tease him by calling him “ornery”, but he’s really just an old softy.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “renoyr” in past Jumbles.  I had no struggle with them today.  The answer letter layout was a straight eight letter jumble.  I thought it was enjoyably cryptic.  The final answer slots layout, with the quotation marks, were big clues for me.

Fine cartoon of a sports bar during football season.  It looks a little like the joint that I hang out in.  Except there are always multiple games being shown.  It’s not a bar for just one set of fans.  I’d really have to travel to get to one of those places.  And, then getting home safely could be an issue.  The perils of being a transplant!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
