Clue/Question: The antique store’s website featured – – –
Answer: SECONDHAND NEWS
(I thought this was the toughest solve in a very long time! It’s a great double-edged pun though. I try not to think of antiques as “secondhand”, even though they actually are, because so many people, who don’t appreciate antiques, use the word in such a dismissive way. We also associate a second hand with timekeeping, although more-so with watches than with clocks. I kept trying to make sense of the answer with the second word being DOWN, and with the first word somehow ending in ED, but to no end. The first word, being such a large compound word, made the solve a challenge for me. I definitely don’t think this answer letter layout helped anyone. It was truly well-constructed. There were no new clue words today, although many of the jumbles appear to be new. The cartoon is full of great detail, especially the background. I hoped you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
