“Life is like an onion. You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.” — Carl Sandburg

(Very poetic, and it has a lot of truth to it. Life can definitely make you weep, and so can onions, but it’s the cutting and/or chopping of onions that causes the tears. Peeling an onion shouldn’t make you cry. I’m certainly no wizard in the kitchen, but I’m betting old Carl wasn’t either. Maybe Rachael Ray, Giada De Laurentis, Anthony Bourdain or any other chef-type, can back me up/clarify this for us? Be well, do good . . . and don’t hold back those tears, guys! Except for John Boehner. He cries at the strangest things, and just a little too often. Politics aside . . . get help, John.) — YUR
