Clue/Question: The stage actors who liked to go fishing together were – – –
Answer: CAST MEMBERS
(Some people might call this a stinky pun. After all, it does deal with fish! But I love it, because the premise is such a stretch! Can anyone, realistically, picture Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson driving upstate to some Catskill lake, for a day of fishing? In costume, no less??? Great sight gag!
All of today’s clue words were familiar old friends. However, all of their jumbles appear to be new. For some reason, they all jumped off the page for me. The eleven letter answer letter layout was the trickiest of jumbles though. It hid the answer wonderfully. I guess it was the combination of the characters being in costume, and Lin’s monster cast that reeled me in.
The cartoon is fantastic. At first I thought that Jeff had drawn one of my favorite bartenders from my craft beer hall. But, then I thought: Hmm, I don’t think Jeff has ever been to Growler & Gill, in Nanuet, NY. Then, it made me realize: Hey, my favorite bartender kinda looks like Lin-Manuel Miranda! LOL! The specific costumes and show could – arguably – be irrelevant to solving this. But, why not reference Broadway’s biggest show of the last four years? It definitely helps that it’s an historical musical. Costumes for “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Come from Away” have got to be pretty nondescript, by comparison. I hear even the cheap seats for “Hamilton” are still going for about a grand! Not yer uncle of course, but some people will take that big bite, hook, line and sinker! Great concept Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
