Clue/Question:  The umpire was glad the game was finally over because he was ready to . . .

Answer:  CALL IT A DAY

(Well, I hope he called a good game, before calling it a day!  This should have been an easy solve for anybody who has ever followed baseball.  There were no new clue words today, but everything was nicely jumbled.  The answer letter layout was okay, but it would have been better had “guilty” and “around” swapped places.  As it is, the CLAL kind of stands out and the YAD . . . just being backwards, and being the last word, made it pretty obvious.  Some days I think our Mr. Hoyt is just too distracted.  He’s a busy man.  But still, our guys are out there . . . swinging!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
