To have courage for whatever comes in life – everything lies in that.”   —   Saint Teresa of Avila

Ben Franklin, Horny Founding Father – William C. Kashatus

Be civil to all; sociable to many; familiar with few; friend to one; enemy to none.”   —   Benjamin Franklin

(Good thing for ONE and NONE, or this might have been a difficult solve.  Although, only one friend?  That seems a little limiting.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Tantor Media - Dan Gable

Gold medals aren’t really made of gold.  They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”   —   Dan Gable

(A great American!  And, even though I’m bigger and younger than Dan, he could probably kick my butt.  So, I’ll refrain from saying anything but positives about this quote.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Totally unrelated to this quote, but please enjoy this bluesy remake/cover of the Annie Lennox classic, “Walking on Broken Glass”.   —   YUR

Ralph Waldo Emerson and the Transcendentalism Movement - SciHi BlogSciHi Blog

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”   —   Ralph Waldo Emerson

(Yeah.  Good old Ralph!  We’ve had a lot of Emerson quotes over the years.  Does this one seem familiar to anybody?  I’m too far behind to go searching.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  BEFORE HER EYES

(Wow!  I didn’t see that coming.  Actually, I did.  As I’m sure most of you did too.  You probably had more difficulty in unscrambling some of the clue words, than getting the answer.  None were new, but they were all jumbled well.  The answer letter layout was done well too.  It didn’t give anything away.  The cartoon tells the story, and the clue/question leads to a very familiar phrase.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Nothing funny about broken bones!  Better it an arm than a leg though, I guess.  With a broken arm you don’t lose any mobility, at least.  No new clue words today, but the usual great jumbling.  The answer letter layout was very good too.  I trust that most of you have a decent working knowledge of human anatomy!  The cartoon was fun.  Some folk are totally freaked out by clowns.  The fear usually starts in childhood, and then lasts through their adult lives.  I guess there is a kind of creepy aspect to clowns.  They are very unnatural looking.  But, that never bothered me.  I always liked Emmett Kelly Jr.‘s bit with the broom and the spotlight.  Very clever.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
