Clue/Question:  How does “Legally Blonde” star Reese eat cereal?

Answer:  WITH HER SPOON

(I guess pretty much like . . . all the rest of us would!  All kidding aside, this was a very good Jumble pun.  The Clue/Question also would have worked with soup . . . or even ice cream!  Initially, I was thinking that the actress’ last name was Reese.  And it took me a few seconds to see the pun.  I’m guessing that either David L. Hoyt, or Jeff Knurek, must be big Reese Witherspoon fans, as they have timed this for her birthday.  It’s hard to believe that she is 47.  She certainly is aging well.

No surprise new clue words today.  They’re all on the ralis95 clue word database.  Two of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen both “zowyo” and “knopes” in previous Jumbles.  The answer letter layout was a twisty twelve letter jumble.  I thought that it was wonderfully cryptic.  Because I was thinking her last name was Reese, I initially thought the final answer was going to be something like WITH TWO SPOONS.  But with only one T and one W that wasn’t going to work.  And I would’ve needed an extra S . . . and one more space in the final answer slots.  But with the WITH and the SPOON parts her full name clicked inside my li’l  pea-brain!

Fine cartoon of a couple of actresses on the set of a movie, or television show.  I personally did not pick up on either actress, but I don’t always see what Jeff is aiming to depict.  I don’t subscribe to Apple TV+, so I’ve never seen “The Morning Show”, but now that I’ve looked it up I can see that the other actress must be Jennifer Aniston!  Jen also looks amazing, especially considering that she is 54!  But of course she’s a rich celebrity, with trainers, specialized diets, and only the best skin care products!  Like I said above, whichever one is the fan-boy, it looks like they timed this perfectly for Reese’s 47th birthday.  Happy Birthday, Reese!  Coincidentally, today’s Celebrity Cipher features a quote from Reese Witherspoon!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Cryptoquote Solved – 03/22/23

(Gotta love Shatner!  He’s been around quite a long time, and he just turned 92 today!  We all know him from the original, and very campy, “Star Trek”.  But it kind of seems like he’s never stopped acting.  He was the title character in the 1980s “T. J. Hooker”, which I seldom watched.  He hosted the show “Rescue 911”.  He played the Big Giant Head in “3rd Rock from the Sun”, which I never missed.  He played Denny Crane in both “The Practice” and “Boston Legal”.  I enjoyed “Boston Legal” more, as it was a good mix of drama AND comedy, whereas “The Practice” was all drama.  He’s done a lot of voice-over work, and of course the “Star Trek” film series.  He’s appeared at a number of Comic Cons.  He’s really done too many things to mention, but I will add that he rode on Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos rocket-ship, becoming the oldest person – to date – to fly into suborbital space, in 2021.  I always thought he was a good looking guy, in his younger years.  He’s pretty paunchy now, but Heck, he’s 92!  I like that he has a good sense of humor, and never took himself too seriously.  Happy Birthday, Bill!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
