Understanding the RPO in Football (Run-Pass Option)

Answer:  RUSHING TO SCORE

(This kinda sounds like the Kansas City Chiefs specialty.  They’re famous for last second victories.  But I’m hoping against that trend today, as I will be rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.  I’m not really a fan of either team, but the Eagles are closer to home for me, and I like their bruising style of play.  Hurts is an up and coming QB, they’ve got a very good running game, and a stout Defense.  I won’t complain when either team wins, as long as the game is competitive.  Blowouts are boring.  Rihanna is attractive, but that style of singing isn’t yer Uncle’s bag.  Maybe I can switch over to the Puppy Bowl, or something.

All of today’s clue words are on the ralis95 All-Star clue word database.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “lyocip”, “rawndo” and “fhirtt” in previous Jumbles.  The only jumble to trip me up was “yaisgn”.  Not sure why.  “Saying” is such a simple word.  The answer letter layout was a fantastic fourteen letter jumble.  I thought it was beautifully cryptic.  Despite what the Quarterback said, I got TO SCORE first, then I saw RUSHING.

Jeff has given us a fine Super Bowl Sunday cartoon.  It looks like he thinks it might be a high scoring game.  Though the Jumblites are down by 4 points, with 4 seconds to go!  Hopefully, it’s going to be a Run Pass Option.  That will give them a little more flexibility.  Great Jumble.  Enjoy the big game, folks.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  On this day in 1865 Henry Highland Garnet became the first Black man to speak at the House of Representatives.  In 1909 the NAACP was officially founded in New York City.  And in 1948 First Lt. Nancy C. Leftenant became the first African American accepted in the regular Army Nursing Corp.  Celebrate Black History Month!   —   YUR
