Visual Description: . . . valley so low!
AWETH = WHEAT, YTSEL = STYLE, GONLAO = LAGOON, DROTEN = RODENT — Giving us: WESTELONDT
Clue/Question: They bought a home in the valley and were ready to – – –
Answer: SETTLE DOWN
(Maybe these were former mountain folk! Then they would really be settling for this down-low. A very down to earth Jumble pun. It looks like these folks have that pioneering spirit. They have a little water wheel on the side of their cabin, so maybe they have a little gristmill for that wheat that they’ll be growing.
We have seen all of these clue words in previous Jumbles. But all four jumbles are coming up as new for me! They all came to me immediately though. The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble. Absolutely nothing obvious about it. The leading nature of the clue/question made for a very quick solve.
Really cute cartoon of the settlers. A Ma and a Pa. Although I don’t see any younguns! Their days will be filled with a lot of work, but during their nights they’ll really have to get busy! Hey, they are going to need more hands to make their farm work! My newspaper was the e-edition only today, and the printout – as usual – is a little blurry. Can anyone make out what the little sign above the door says? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Unc, I looked and found this jumble online at the Chicago Tribune site. I downloaded the image and opened it up in IrvanView. It was trivial to enlarge it and see that the sign in question clearly said, merely, “For Sale”.
It says “For Sale”
It looks to me like the sign says FOR SALE. I had the darndest time coming up with wheat. The solution was super easy and came to me right away. Yesterday’s wordle caused people a lot of problems. The answer was JUDGE. People narrowed it down to *UDGE but to many options for the first letter. Hope you had a Merry Christmas unc.
Looks like Dolphin QB Tua was concussed again this past weekend. That’s number 3 for him. Poor kid keeps getting knocked out. Maybe it’s time to sit out the rest of the season.
Nine of 15 yesterday for OUR quarterback y’day including the first five in a row! 🙋♀️ Now that’s Joe Montana-like.
Speaking of Montana, the sign on the house reads FOR SALE. Love the property in the valley, but prefer the Montana mountains. Big Sky country. I loved a girl from Montana once named Robin. Actually twice. Very nice girl.
Stay safe out there!!!

Thanks a bunch, Art! You were the first to answer my question. That’s a little disappointing though. I had thought that these were pioneers, who built it themselves. A bit of a bubble burst! — YUR
Thank you, Bill! — YUR
Thanks, Randy! It was a little disappointing as my daughter tested positive for COVID, and had to go home to quarantine. But other than that it was merry! Hope yours was too. I still haven’t gotten around to trying Wordle. Any day now. Any day. — YUR
Tua needed to learn to tuck his darn head! The (original) Buffalo hit and the (recent) Green Bay hit were not that harsh. If he had tucked his head those times he would’ve been okay. The Cincy one was pretty brutal though. I think he should retire altogether. This many concussions, in such a short period of time, makes him a ticking time bomb. He’s got too much to live for.
Montana looks like great place to visit. Maybe, some day I’ll get there, Smitty.

Try as I might, I could not make it out Unc. Glad Randy and Smitty could see it clearly.
So sorry about the covid hit. Hope there are no complications! LL
She had to back out of seeing a Broadway show for tonight, but she doesn’t seem to be too ill. Just positive still. — YUR
