Pre-Answer: Four Words (1-letter) (five-letters)'(1-letter) (five-letters) (4-letters)
Answer: A STONE‘S THROW AWAY
(The Brits go for distance, and call it “skimming stones”. While us Yanks want to see how many times we can get the stone to “skip” over the surface, and we call it “skipping stones”. Maybe that’s why the Brits love their soccer, where it takes forever for a single score, but Americans love real football, with the hard hitting and frequent scoring! I always enjoyed playing soccer, but I much prefer to watch American Football! I can’t stand the friggin’ clock in soccer!
All Classic clue words today. Though it’s been a while since we’ve seen some of today’s words. The first five jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “sfliso” in a previous Jumble. None of them tripped me up this morning. The answer letter layout was a spectacular sixteen letter jumble! Nothing obvious there. The combination of the cartoon’s dialog, and the final answer slot layout, made for a quick solve for me.
Great cartoon of the young family, at their house by the pond! I still enjoy skipping stones. Although, I don’t know how good I’d be at it today. You need to get a nice smooth and flat rock to make it really work. Then you need to perfect your side arm technique. Be sure to bend your knees. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
